Farmer George Pedley experienced a close encounter with a flying object unlike any he had seen before; a large, grey saucer-shaped craft that disappeared rapidly. He discovered a circular area in the lagoon, devoid of reeds and rotating slowly. Later, the spot was covered in green reeds arranged in a peculiar manner. Following investigations by the police and the Royal Australian Air Force, multiple theories were proposed, but none could definitively explain Pedley’s UFO sighting. The mystery around this event, now known as the ‘Tully Saucer Nest’, remains unsolved.
